Marianas Trench was a big winner at this year’s Juno Awards, taking home the prize for Group of the Year. In the clip below, the band tells JunoTV a truly great tour story and explain the choir that accompanied the band onstage last week in Regina.
Lead singer, Josh Ramsay, explains that he jumps out of a Jack-in-a-Box at every show, but opening act Down With Webster played a particularly funny prank on them at the end of their tour.
“Right before we go on, the lid opens and Down With Webster threw in a bunch of live lobsters into the jack-in-the-box with me so I was just sitting in there with a bunch of live lobsters,” Ramsay says. “They were not happy.”
Ramsay also goes on to explain the idea behind inviting a choir to sing with them at the Junos.
“We sang with that choir before,” he says, of the choir who has also performed with the likes of Kanye West. “Matt and I both came from a choral background [...] We were really stoked that they agreed to fly here and they are really great.”
